Agenda for Personnel Committee Meeting

Members: Mike Castell (Chair); Ranny Catingub; Don Buenconsejo and James Perez. 

Agenda: 

  1. Motion: Transition Chaplain Kyle McCool from Contract (1099) to Part Time Employee (W-2) and subject to all "employer-employee" arrangements with HR (Proservice) such as tax adjustments and other employment compliance.  He will be receiving 1250.00 as part-time and all conditions and agreement applies as dictated by the "covenant" and "work scope".  
    1.  This transition allows the employer to pay the empoyer's share of social security and medicare taxes (FICA) for the employee (7.65% as oppose to full self-employment taxes of 15.3%).   
    2. Employee avoids acrued penalty for not making quarterly payments for withholdings
    3. Employer automatically whitholds employees taxes (w2 vs. 1099)
    4. Eligible for unemployment benefits
    5. Can begin and voluntarily contribute to Guidestone annuity. 
  2. Report:  Submit and sign the current covenant and work scope for bookkeeper and church secretary intern (See Email).
